Products & Pipeline

BirchBioMed is actively advancing a robust portfolio of innovative treatments currently in mid-to-late-stage clinical trials. We are developing a diverse range of applications across three key programs: topical creams of kynurenic acid (KynA), systemic administration of KynA, and a pioneering one-time delivery of antigen producing-cells (APCs) in combination with daily systemic KynA administration. These products are being tested in a variety of indications to meet critical medical needs in fibrosis and certain autoimmune disorders.

Topical Creams

BirchBioMed’s topical cream, formulated with KynA, is designed to target skin-related conditions leveraging KynA’s properties to enhance extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and reduce inflammation directly at the site of application. This cream offers a non-invasive option for patients suffering from various dermatological disorders, providing targeted, localized therapy with the potential to improve skin health and appearance without systemic side effects.

Systemic Administration

Systemic administration of KynA represents a groundbreaking approach to treating organ fibrotic conditions. Currently ready for clinical trials, this method delivers KynA is absorbed into the bloodstream through oral administration, enabling it to target life-threatening organ fibrosis.

One-Time Delivery of APCs in Combination with Systemic Delivery of KynA

By combining systemic administration of KynA with one-time delivery of APCs, BirchBioMed is developing a pioneering therapeutic approach tailored for certain autoimmune disorders like type 1 diabetes and alopecia areata. This innovative approach employs dual-action therapy to modulate the autoimmune response directly. AI-001 aims to recalibrate the immune system, potentially offering a transformative solution for treating and managing certain complex subsets of clinical autoimmune conditions.
